As senior partner and founder of h2glenfern Tim believes that high quality, consistent and credible communications are some of the key ingredients for effective value creation.
Before founding h2glenfern, Tim led European equity sales desks and ultimately the debt and equity research teams for BAML in Europe. With a relevant and accomplished career in capital markets, Tim is passionate about using his skills and experience to help businesses of all sizes improve their access to capital, maximise their efficiency and effectiveness and ultimately optimise value for stakeholders.
Clive is a Partner at h2glenfern. He engages in all aspects of the investment marketing services provided, but his focus is on Investment Evaluation and Shareholder Profiling. With a background in investment research, he has done much work in looking at the implications for investment promotion in a post-MiFID2 environment and developing solutions to address them.
Clive joined h2glenfern in 2009 having previously been a partner and analyst at the hedge fund platform, NewSmith Capital. Before this, he was a sell-side Transport and Infrastructure analyst at Merrill Lynch/Smith New Court, where his global research team achieved No.1 rankings for over a decade. He began his career in the transport industry with P&O/Jardine Matheson.
Clive holds an MA in History from Cambridge University.
Michael’s expertise lies in assisting public and private growth companies with corporate, investor and governance matters to allow boards to focus on delivering their business strategy. His career background is in corporate finance. Michael spent twelve years at Investec where he provided broad advice to growth private and quoted companies across a range of sectors and transactions and worked with companies from the FTSE 250 to AIM as well as private businesses.
Michael joined h2glenfern in 2009 to develop a market focussed remuneration consultancy.
Michael graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in economics and history.
John joined h2glenfern in 2019 and has a general focus on all elements of providing strategy and communications advice for our clients, in both the public and private markets. He also leads our ESG consultancy business, helping clients clearly articulate their approach in this increasingly vital area of their business.
Before joining h2glenfern, John spent 30 years in the asset management business; over 20 years with UBS Asset Management in London, Tokyo and Zurich, most latterly as their European Head of Equities, and nearly a decade as the CIO of Martin Currie in Edinburgh. During that time, he was an analyst, portfolio manager and leader, with a focus on developing talent and delivering on client objectives.
As well as creating successful performance track records, John was a pioneer in the integration of ESG factors into mainstream equity analysis and portfolio construction. As a result, he has a buy-side perspective to help clients navigate through the significant structural changes that are currently underway in investment markets.
James joined h2glenfern in 2019 to focus on providing strategy and communications advice for businesses in both the public and private markets.
Before h2glenfern, James ran equities business development and product marketing for one of the world’s leading financial technology companies. He also served as Global COO for a mid-sized investment banking business and spent ten years at Merrill Lynch in New York and London where he became a Managing Director with specific responsibility for overseeing the equity sales and trading relationships with the firms largest US long-only and hedge fund clients.
Following a 30-year equity capital markets career, James has a broad range of relevant experiences and is exceptionally well placed to help clients navigate their way through structural changes underway in global equity capital markets.
Tom joined h2glenfern in 2018 and is responsible for business development. He liaises with private and public market investors, corporates in both realms, M&A advisors, stockbrokers and placement agents in the UK and continental Europe. In the executive sphere, he advises the management of companies sponsored by private equity firms going through a sale process and helps asset managers with articulating their story to investors.
Before joining h2glenfern, Tom spent 22 years working for Cazenove, KBC, Macquarie and BNP Paribas. He headed equity sales teams in London and New York having started his career in equity research. His experience promoting Asian small and mid-cap companies to institutional investors in Europe and the US which gave him an early and illuminating education in the value of proper communication and the risk of unappreciated differences in expectations.
With his experience of the requirements and challenges facing both corporates and investors in multiple markets and under changing conditions, Tom is keen to bring the valuable benefits of h2glenfern’s service to all these counterparties.
Chris joined h2glenfern in 2014, focusing on providing strategy and communications advice for businesses in public markets.
Chris has worked in investor relations for twenty-five years. Prior to joining h2glenfern, he co-founded and managed a specialist IR consultancy. Before that, he was Head of Investor Relations for a FTSE-250 London-listed Engineering Services business and worked for a broad range of FTSE100 and 250 companies.
Previously Chris worked in Capital Markets for ten years from 1984 – 1994 in Research and UK Equity Sales and was a Director of the UK equities division of Kleinwort Benson Securities where he was responsible for managing the firm’s accounts with several large UK institutional asset managers.
After a 30+ year career in both equity markets and investor relations, Chris has a blend of highly relevant experience to provide strategic advice to listed clients. He also has an excellent network of contacts with institutional fund managers and sell-side analysts from his many years working in the industry.
Deirdre joined h2glenfern in January 2018 and has since focused on conducting perception audits for corporates as well as assisting in management training sessions for companies going through a private equity sales process.
Deirdre graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in History and Politics.
Janak joined the Remuneration Advisory team in September 2016 after spending two years working in finance for a leading post-production and visual effects agency.
Janak has assisted public and private UK growth companies on all aspects of executive, senior team and non-executive remuneration. His focus includes policy design and implementation, remuneration at IPO, benchmarking remuneration governance and remuneration reporting.
Janak has contributed research to several surveys on remuneration practices on the AIM 100 and AIM UK 50.
Janak has a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and Philosophy and a master’s in politics from the University of York.
Having joined h2lgenfern in July 2018, Natalie is the Office Manager responsible for supporting the day to day activities of the business.
Natalie graduated from the University of Sussex with a degree in Law.
